Licensed Insurance Sales Producer and/or Customer Service Representative
Insurance Sales and Service, current Texas P&C license, pleasant disposition, good communication skills both verbal and written. Strong computer skills. Ability to handle customer problems. Workable knowledge of insurance, and prior insurance experience.
Job Type:
Commission + Bonus. Negotiable. Remote/Hybrid work is available for the right candidate.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Identify and develop insurance prospects and appropriate markets.
• Respond to referrals quickly and effectively.
• Pre-qualify prospects for insurability and quality of risk.
• Enter client or prospect details in agency management system.
• Design insurance plans and recommend coverage to clients.
• Survey loss exposures, needs, and possible uninsurable or difficult-to-insure exposures for clients.
• Create insurance proposals; make sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business.
• Complete and submit applications and related documentation to appropriate insurance markets.
• Develop, follow, and complete sales objectives.
• Educate clients concerning agency payment expectations and cancellation procedures.
• Collect down payments from insureds for purchases of new and upgraded coverage and obtain signatures on all applications.
• Acknowledge non-standard coverage limitations and binding restrictions to document file and lower errors and omissions exposures.
• Ask for referrals from insureds to help generate new business.
• Explain coverage and exclusions and documents explanations in agency management system.
Personal and Organizational Development:
• Develop a book of business that is profitable for both the agency and carriers.
• Work with clients to ensure limit and coverage adequacy.
• Provide needed information and clarifications about clients to company personnel, and documents system by transaction date.
• Create letters to clients offering coverage, share information and advice regarding insurance matters. Uses these to round out accounts fully.
• Review existing Policy coverage at least annually.
• Review appropriate policy change requests and other account activity.
• Document automated file as appropriate. Use each client contact as an opportunity for coverage review and marketing of needs covered.
• Recommend and help insureds carry out loss control programs, independently and with company loss control staff.
• Continue to develop relationships with insureds.
• Accept and handle any duties/prospects as assigned by agency management.
Personal Development:
• Develop a Personal improvement plan and take responsibility for learning and improving technical and sales skills regularly.
• Read and interpret technical manuals and insurance information from carriers, vendors, publishers, etc.
Knowledge, Education, and Skills:
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with others, to explain complex issues, to receive and interpret complex information, and to respond appropriately.
• Ability to understand written and oral communication and to interpret abstract information.
• Full knowledge of insurance products and usages.
• Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned client and prospect lists.
• Full knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets.
• Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures.
• Ability to generate new business sales, retain existing business, and close sales in insurance.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, and to perform simple calculations involving decimals and fractions with accuracy.
• Ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality.
• Ability to drive a vehicle, visit clients, and make related calls to others.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
